Phew, thank you council for passing this ground breaking decision. Now the student athlete can have jam, cream cheese, and even peanut butter on their bagels. They may even eat more than 1 of those bagels now that this piece of legislation has been passed. They only passed this for Division 1 sports. I can't help but wonder if this will become another recruiting tool for the bigger schools? Did this food provision get passed because of the new union recently formed by student athletes at Northwestern to appease them?
Let us look at Akron and Ohio State for a quick minute, both are division 1 schools, but Akron does not offer every sport available where Ohio State does. Ohio State pays for the non-profit sports through a multi-million dollar sports program mainly paid for by the football and basketball programs. Akron does not bring in an amount even close to O.S.U. but they will both be feeding their players. Do the Zips provide hot dogs to their players while the Buckeyes get T-Bone steaks? I also wonder what happens with the non-profit sports, will they get to eat like the football & basketball teams? It's all just food for thought.

Bobby Petrino is an excellent football coach, on the field. He is a great recruiter and a wonderful X's and O's guy, but what about his personal life? The extraordinary events that led to his return to U of L have been as documented as the total self destructive demise as the Tiger Woods saga. After leaving U of L the 1st time, he went to the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, while he just signed a 10 year deal with Louisville. In Atlanta he didn't even last a full year before he up and quit. That same night he was introduced as the new head coach at Arkansas. Bobby seemed content, but still winning. His first year at Arkansas he went 5-7 and improved the record to 11-2 in 2011, this would be his last year there. He was let go because of a scandal involving a motorcycle crash and an affair with a young assistant. After a year of recovery he was hired by Western KY. WKU went 8-4 with a major victory over Kentucky. Now he is back with Louisville, has he changed his ways, has he found his moral compass? These and other questions will be answered in his 2nd stint with the Cardinals. I like U of L and hope that they didn't sell their souls for college football victories. No matter how it goes, it will be an interesting ride. Click below to see a timeline of Bobby Petrino and his unscrupulous coaching career. Bobby Petrino Coaching Timeline
